Ikaika met his coach Steve Baker during his first PACE group class at Olympic View Ice Arena March 2006. Steve became his coach after the group session concluded. Steve coached Ikaika to his 2012 NWP Regional Champion title.

Ikaika would not be the skater he is now if not for Steve. He taught him so much more than just skills on the ice. How to be a strong competitor, how to pick himself up when he falls, and do it again and again. To be positive and to laugh at himself. His legacy will live on within this skater.

As Ikaika moves on to a new training situation, we would like to thank Steve for giving of himself and his knowledge. He is truly a Gold Medal Coach.
