About

Hi, my name is Ikaika. I am a senior figure skater that happens to live in the sometimes sunny, but mostly wet Seattle, Washington. I am a part time student at the WSU Global Campus looking at a degree in psychology.

A lot of people ask me whether I “skate with a girl” so I thought I would answer that question now. I do not compete in or practice ice dance or do pairs skating. (However, I did do a show program that was kind of a pairs number and I used to skate at a rink with a lot of high level ice dancers).

I am a singles skater through and through. My favorite part of skating is the jumps (the more jumps the better). Although recently I have come to love spinning and edges almost if not as much. I love to push myself in training. I love to work hard and I love to see the improvements that hard work brings.

I train on the ice for about 3 hours a day five days a week and three of those days I train up in Canada. In addition, I do off ice conditioning, off ice jumps, stretching, and mental game.

As a part time job, I help my mom out with her website www.sportspsychologyfigureskating.com. I also teach Learn to Skate USA at the Xfinity Community Ice Rink in Everett.

When I am not training, studying, or working (which is not very often), I enjoy relaxing by writing and playing video games.

Feel free to check out the rest of my website. I will do my best to keep it updated as well as post occasionally on my blog. And don’t forget like my page on Facebook to get up to date news on what I am currently doing.
