Ode to Duct Tape Sk8r
Never let a bad day make you feel like you have a bad life.

Well, this is the first day of my blog. I would like to say thanks to everyone who takes the time to read this post.
I am getting new skates soon!! I’m really excited, because my skates are totally broken down, and they (very unfortunately) broke down in 3 and 1⁄2 months. Right after the warranty on them expired (figures…) Right now, every time I get on the ice I have to duct tape the tops of the boots in order to increase the stiffness (that way, I don’t collapse on my landings). I like more stiffness on my landing leg boot, so I use three strips on that one, and two on the other. As you may have guessed, I have been going through duct tape at a very rapid rate. During the Colorado trip alone, I went through a whole roll (and these rolls aren’t small…). Duct tape is definitely a savior in many circumstances, it was…used to repair military equipment quickly, including jeeps, firearms, and aircraft (wikipedia), and broken down skates humble as they may be are no exception. So I send up my thanks to the people who invented duct tape!! and I hope that someday someone will make a boot that never breaks down.
