Northwest Pacific Regionals

Ikaika skated in Tacoma, WA this past weekend at the Northwest Pacific Regional Championships. He skated against 3 other competitors from Montana, Idaho and Alaska. He was second after the short program by .01 points. In his Freeskate (long program) he landed all three of his triple jumps cleanly for the first time in competition ever for a first place finish. He is the 2014 Northwest Pacific Novice Mens Regional Champion.

His next competition will be the Pacific Coast Sectionals Championships in Oakland California, November 19-24, 2013 where he will meet 12 of the best Novice skaters in the Pacific Coast Section which ranges from Washington to California and west to Utah.

He took two days off and is now back to his usual training schedule.

Ikaika would like to thank all of his coaches who have helped him in this rebuilding year. Their knowledge, patience and belief in him have made a huge difference in his skill level.

Ikaika and his family would like to send a huge Mahalo to all of his sponsors who have been so very generous in donating miles and funds that have allowed him to travel for training and competitions this year to gain more experience at this higher level of competition.

A special acknowledgement for Doug, Ikaika’s Dad who has been so supportive and patient with all the travel and crazy scheduling as he pursues his goal of being an elite competitive skater.
